About Therapy

We all have times when we struggle more than others, but honestly, everyone can use a little therapy.   Sometimes it’s helpful just to consider why we feel the way we feel about things, and if there isn’t a better way.

We are social beings by nature, and as a result impact and are impacted by the behaviors of those with whom we share our lives.  Marriage and Family Therapists are specially trained in family systems theory in order to help overcome the challenges that all families face.

How long therapy lasts depends on the issue at hand.  It can be as short as a few sessions, a few months, or for years.  The goals of therapy are set together.

I am trained in Bowen Systems theory, as well as Gottman for couples.  My approach to therapy is REBT, however  I believe there is no one size fits all, and will frequently use interventions from other theories.

I am not currently running any therapy groups.

In the event that medication is a consideration, referral to a psychiatrist will be made.
